LYONS TWP REG. MEETING AUG 6, 2018

The meeting was called to order with the Pledge to the Flag.  There were 3 citizens and 5 board members present.

Minutes to the meeting were presented for review.  A motion to accept the minutes with the addition of $136.84 for a total of $1,340.07 to the building fund   was made by Mr. Scheurer and supported by Mr. Thelen. Motion carried.
Correspondence: A letter from Ionia County Health Department was read notifying people about ongoing testing for (PFAS) Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances.  These are a group of man-made chemicals.
Cemetery:  There were 3 full burials within 3 days for the month of July.  Mr. Russell did some tree trimming. There were 3 grave sites that the ground had sunk.  
Public comment:  There was no public comments.
Treasurer’s report:  A motion to accept the treasurer’s report as presented was made by Mr. Thelen and supported by Mr. Scheurer.   Motion carried.
Bills in the amount of $37,285.77 to the general fund and $1,995.78 to the building fund were presented for payment.  A motion to pay the bills was made by Mr. Scheurer and supported by Mr. Thelen. Motion carried.
TWP Business: A motion to charge a 0% fee to charter customers for their charter internet was made by Mr. Scheurer and supported by Mr. Thelen.  Motion carried.
The board agreed to have brush cut down in Electric Park and on James road.
Building:  Mr. Babcock has received a couple of calls on renting the bank building.
A motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:20 was made by Mr. Thelen and supported by Mrs. Thelen.   Motion carried.
