August Meeting Minutes

​                                                     LYONS TWP REG. MEETING
Aug 6, 2020
The meeting was called to order with the Pledge to the Flag.  There was 1 citizens and 5 board members present.
Minutes to the meeting were presented for review.  A motion to accept the minutes was made by T. Thelen and supported by R Scheurer.  Motion carried.
Correspondence: There was no correspondence.
Cemetery: Wickham’s is working on the foundations.  The board wants an estimate given before any more work is to be done in the cemetery. 
Public comment:  There was no public comment.
Treasurer’s Report:  A motion to accept the treasurer’s report as presented was made by R Scheurer and supported by T. Thelen Motion carried.
Bills in the amount of $27,056.27 to the general fund and $892.33 to the building fund were presented for payment.  A motion to pay the bills was made by R. Scheurer and supported by T. Thelen.  Motion carried.
TWP Business:  Fire Chief Lyndon Randall discussed with Portland about partnering with Lyons Twp. with the cost of putting a dry hydrant at the Shotwell Bridge.  Chief Randall also discussed both Chiefs meeting with the ISO (Insurance Service Organization) who said everything is going well the only thing that needs to be different are some of the forms. 
The 911 millage passed so the firemen will be getting all new hand held 800 radios.
LMFD sold 22 old SCOT bottles for $7500. LMFD will give $8000 to the TWP. to earmark for a different rescue. 
Building: C. Babcock has gotten a bid for steel siding for the east side of the building where the brick is falling off.  The board has asked to try and get at least one more bid.
 
A motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 was made by R. Scheurer and supported by T. Thelen Motion carried.
